Grief

Grief is still too often a taboo. But how long are you 'allowed' to mourn the loss of a loved one? How long is it acceptable to be unable to get out of bed after a miscarriage? How much time do you get to heal? How long is heartbreak over your first love considered reasonable?

You get two days of bereavement leave, and after six months or a year, people expect you to move on. But in reality, it often doesn’t work that way.

With this photo series, I have tried to capture different forms of grief. Whether you see childhood sorrow, the loss of a child, or a traumatic past that robbed you of your childhood, I have left it open to personal interpretation.
